League 1 2022/23 – Aberdeen

Last weekend the tramps got up at the crack of dawn to travel all the way up to Aberdeen for League 1 of the Scottish Student Trampoline Competitions. This was our very first comp of the new academic year and everyone was super excited to get back to our trampy trips.

A huge thank you to Mathilda for driving up so that those who were competing early got there in time. The rest of us piled on the megabus (thank you young scot card) and joined everyone else at 10. By this time the competition was already well underway with all trampolines and the DMT set up and people bouncing and mingling. This comp we had a grand total of 13 competitors, including 7 New Members, competing in both Trampoline and DMT categories! First up to compete were Charlotte, Elliot and Eloise in Women’s Novice! Alison, Janann and Amie killed it nearby in Women’s intermediate and all the way on the other side of the Hall Mathilda and Jack did a great job in Advanced and Elite DMT! Next up, Harry did a fantastic job over in Men’s Intervanced. After a well-earned lunch break Niamh and Mathilda stunned in Women’s Elite while Mairi and Anna were incredible on the Women’s Preadvanced trampoline! Lastly, Jack amazed everyone in Pro-Elite and Niamh was fantastic in the Novice DMT category. Congratulations to everyone who competed for doing such an fantastic job and thank you to everyone else for being so supportive and helpful.

This competition was another success with EUTC taking home 3 medals. Both Mairi and Anna placed in the Women’s Preadvanced category with Mairi winning silver and Anna winning bronze! Then, Niamh placed second in Novice DMT taking home a nice silver medal too! Thank you as well to Alison, Amie, Anne, Jack, Mathilda and Janann for judging as well as Harry, Niamh and Lottie for marshalling, you were a great help! What an amazing first competition of the year!

After that everyone headed back to the flat (shoutout to our lovely host Cait for having us a second time, you are amazing!!) before heading out for our traditional club dinner! Later on in the evening everyone got their werewolf (and pumpkin) costumes on for a spooky fun night out in Aberdeen with the rest of the Scottish trampoline clubs!

All in all it was a fantastic weekend and an amazing way to kick off the new year of SST comps, making us all super excited for SSTO in February. Thank you so much to SST for organising the competition and to our amazing EUTC committee for getting us there and back in one piece!
