EUTC and Scottish Student Trampoline are finally back to competing after a long year and a half of restrictions!
League 1 took place in Dundee and we’d like to say a huge thank you to the University of Dundee for hosting us and to Scottish Student Trampoline for organising such a successful competition after so long.
It was quite the weekend! Our nerves were high the night before the comp as a red warning for wind was issued and Storm Arwen moved in over the UK. While half the comp team were able to ride to Dundee in the comfort of Fiona and Gwynneth’s cars, the rest of us woke up to the news that our train had been cancelled – nightmare!
We booked new tickets for a bus and, after a stressful, nail biting wait for our birthday girl Amie to arrive, the remainding cohort of EUTC were finally on their way to Dundee, only an hour and a half late. One bus ride and a 20 minute walk to the sports hall later, the stragglers were finally reunited with the rest of the club and our competition could finally begin!
Anne and Janann did a fantastic job at their very first competition in the Novice Women category; Amie, Elizabeth and Bella stunned in Intermediate Ladies; Bansri shone in Intervanced Ladies by taking home a gold for the club (!); and finally, Gwynneth and Kirsten wowed us all in Elite Ladies.
After a busy day at the competition, we refuelled and then headed back to our host flat to get ready for our white t-shirt social with the rest of the SST cohort.
All in all, it was a successful and fun weekend! We’re mainly glad we managed to get to Dundee and back in one piece!
We’re absolutely delighted to be back competing and can’t wait for SSTO in February. We’ll be winding down for the year in the next few weeks so, from EUTC, we hope you all have a lovely festive season, a happy New Year, and we can’t wait to get straight back into the swing of things in January!!
