2019/20 Year Roundup

2019/20, although a year cut short, has been jam packed with memories! We couldn’t be prouder of everyone’s success and team spirit!!

This year showed a 45% increase in membership to our highest number on record, followed by great number of new competitors.

We’ve carried out even more community projects this year, including running disability sessions and attending a primary school to discuss higher education during their STEM week. New this year, we held a race night which was a HUGE success, raising over £600 for our chosen charity, Shelter!

With more socials to count, we’ve seen our most popular TRAMPcake day, iconic dynamic duos and some wild animals! A special shout out to Gwynneth the Tree and Kirsty the Zebra!

We have won an incredible number of medals this year, all thanks to the dedication and skill put in by our competitors.

League 1: St Andrews, we earned 9 medals.

League 2: Dundee, we earned 11 medals.

SSTO was held at home in Edinburgh this year, where we saw hundreds of competitors come together to bounce with the help of our volunteer judges – without whom competitions could not take place!

League 4: Glasgow, a particular congratulations to Katie Quinn, Sophie Weeden and Jenny Anton who won the Novice, Intervanced and Pro-Elite Ladies shields respectively, showing impressive consistency in their performance throughout the year.

And of course we bought home the league cup!! #weareedinburgh

Additionally, a huge congratulations to Matt Angelides on being awarded Student Volunteer of the Year – a very well deserved award.

Of course none of our success would be possible without the continued dedication of our club members, volunteer coaches, judges and club committees – we are endlessly grateful – THANK YOU!!

A special thank you also, to Edinburgh University Sports Union and our club sponsors, DSW Engineering Ltd, Love Wednesdays at Why Not Nightclub and The Pear Tree, Edinburgh, for their immense support this year.

Here is a short video highlighting our adventures and achievements. Bring on 2020/21!!!
